Episode 5 preview
Jerry Siegel was drafted into World War II quite late and was assigned a job writing for the military newspaper Stars and Stripes. While he was away, the owners of Superman took his pitch for a “Superboy”–in Siegel’s conception, Superman as a juvenile prankster– and made him into a hero to compete with rival Fawcett Publications’ Captain Marvel Jr. Only Superman’s owners didn’t tell Jerry what they were doing. Or pay him for the idea. But they did make Joe draw it… Featuring additional voice work by Drew Meyer and an interview with Bonnie Siegler. Video produced with military precision by Andy Hicks
